As we have discussed in the past, Johnny Depp has been heavily discussed in the news cycle due to his ongoing legal battle with ex-wife Amber Heard went mainstream. Heard has accused Depp of domestic violence and is suing, and Depp is countering her suit with a defamation cost for a $150 million lawsuit. The two will not have their official court case until next spring, but Depp has lost a defamation battle against U.K. tabloid The Sun, who sided with Heard’s description of Depp.

The negative press has heavily impacted Depp’s career, with both Disney and Warner Bros. dropping the actor from his respective films at each company. Removing Depp from Pirates of the Caribbean film caused instant outrage among fans, who have to singe heavily petitioned to bring the actor back. The film Minamata, produced by MGM, was recently buried even though it has Oscar potential due to Depp’s involvement.

Recently, Depp was in Serbia promoting Puffins, a “mobile-first short-form animated show about the adventures of some cute birds who work as the servant of a grumpy walrus. Depp plays Johnny Puff, who seems to be some kind of eccentric puffin leader”. The show is being made in Serbia, which led the actor to meet with controversial President Aleksandar Vučić.

Aleksandar Vučić has been deemed controversial to some due to some violent statements made in the past and current political standpoints. Luckily for those who are looking for wholesome content, it seems that Puffins is just that. Viewers can watch Depp return to the screen as a bird on Amazon Prime.
