Celebrating the holidays at Disneyland Resort is something truly magical. From the delicious food offerings to the Christmas Fantasy Parade to the incredible Believe In Holiday Magic fireworks, it is truly an unforgettable time. There is also another event that only takes place for two nights, but it is one that many people look forward to.
That event is the Disneyland Candlelight Processional.
Unfortunately, Disneyland was not able to have the Candlelight Processional — or any Christmas events — last year as both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure were completely shut down due to the pandemic. However, it looks like this year, that is changing.
Ashley✨Anne | Disneyland Fans (@sisters.in.toontown) shared that Club 33 members had received an email informing them that the Candlelight Processional will be returning to the Happiest Place on Earth this year. The event will stick with tradition and be for two nights and will take place on December 4 and December 5.
Our favorite event of the year has been confirmed! Mark your calendars for December 4 & 5 to see the story of Christmas brought to life on Main Street.
Showtimes are 5:30 and 7:45 each day.
Let me know if you’ve had the chance to see it below ❤️
According to Ashley and Anne, the email also informed members that tickets to the event will not be available for purchase. That is traditional with the Disneyland event, as seating is very limited, it is traditionally by invitation only. However, Guests wishing to watch the beautiful presentation are able to — and do — line up in designated areas of Main Street, U.S.A. hours in advance on the days of the event.
Here is more information on the Candlelight Processional. The information comes from the Walt Disney World website but is applicable to the event that occurs at Disneyland as well.
Each night, a celebrity narrator tells the story of Christmas, recounting the biblical tale of a savior born in Bethlehem. Woven into the production are stirring songs of hope and joy performed by the orchestra and massed choir.
At the time of publication, Disneyland officials have not released any information on the event or who the celebrity narrators will be. Past Candlelight Processionals have included Hamilton creator Lin Manuel Miranda, Thor star Chris Hemsworth, and Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt. Geena Davis and Disney legend Dick Van Dyke have also narrated in the past.
Inside the Magic will keep readers updated as Disney releases more information about this special holiday event.
