This past Friday, October 1, The Most Magical Celebration on Earth began at Walt Disney World Resort and will go on to last 18-months. There have been hundreds of offerings added to the Resort, with so many little touches adding magic to the day of each Guest. All of the new additions are impossible to experience in one visit, so Guests can expect to want to come back during the celebration in order to see everything.

Some of the big changes include all of the new decor and Beacons of Magic at the four parks. Magic Kingdom completely reinvented Cinderella Castle, EPCOT’s Spaceship Earth has a permanent lighting change that we can stare at for hours. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Guests can watch Tower of Terror come back to life, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom lets the Tree of Life shine. We also saw new shows like Disney Enchantment, Harmonious, and Disney KiteTails debut.
There have also been a large amount of smaller offerings that Guests may miss! For example, the monorail now lights up at night, some quick-service restaurants such as The Artist’s Palette at Disney’s Saratoga Springs have revamped their menu, new signs and banners are running through the Resort, and so much more. One of the recent changes we noticed was the Disney Busses sharing messages to Guests as they drive by, recalling what has gone on at Disney World over the past 50 years.
While at Magic Kingdom, one bus pulled in, and it read:
“Celebrating 50 years of Turkey Legs”
Personally, I found this to be a clever and great touch for Guests to experience as each bus has a different message. We also saw some that celebrated 50 years of jungle cruise jokes, as Jungle Cruise was an opening day attraction, and 50 years of magic. Considering how debatable of a topic turkey legs are among Guests (love them or hate them, you be the judge), this will surely be a conversation starter for Guests while in line waiting for their bus to arrive.

What do you think of these messages? And more importantly, are you team turkey leg or not?
