One of the most popular spots on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort is the Main Street Confectionery. The sweet shop has been closed for a lengthy refurbishment and was scheduled to reopen tomorrow, September 29.
But in true Disney fashion, Cast Members surprised Disney World Guests today, September 28, when they were welcoming families to stop by and check out the refurbished shop and grab a sweet treat.
That’s right — the Main Street Confectionery opened up one day earlier than scheduled. Inside the Magic readers emailed us, letting us know that the Main Street Confectionery is welcoming Guests inside for a soft opening.
Though the Walt Disney World website still does not list hours for the sweet shop until tomorrow, Inside the Magic was able to confirm the soft opening on the My Disney Experience app via Mobile Order.
In case you aren’t familiar, the Main Street Confectionery is described on the Walt Disney World website as:
Follow your nose inside this old-fashioned candy shop, where delightful treats including character-inspired candy apples and Mickey krispie treats are made.
If you visit the Main Street Confectionery in the near future, be sure to check out the new 50th anniversary-inspired items as well as the new interactive candy wall! You can read more about the new items and changes here.
