What’s this? What’s this? Why, it’s Jack Skellington and his longtime love Sally greeting Guests at Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion Holiday! Guests visiting the theme park recently were treated to this special sight as they waited in the queue to board an attraction that shows them just what happens when two holidays collide.

Normally during Halloween Time, Jack and Sally have their own meet and greet location — which is found between the Pieces of Eight and Port Royal Curios and Curiosities merchandise locations — next to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. However, due to health, safety, and social distancing guidelines currently in place at Disneyland Resort, that meet and greet location is not open this year.

All character meet and greets at Disneyland Resort are socially distanced, and no one-on-one meetings and autographs are allowed at this time. However, Disney still wants to keep the magic of character interactions alive, so they have put the two Halloween Town lovebirds where they fit best — the balcony of Haunted Mansion Holiday.

Some lucky Guests visiting Disneyland were able to see the pair on their visit, including Leslie K. (@nevercoolinschool).

Haunted Mansion Holiday has returned and with it a few new sights.

Socially distanced character meets means Jack and Sally from ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ appear high above in New Orleans Square, switching from the balconies of Royal 21 and the HM balcony.

This year’s gingerbread house is a Frankenstein’s monster so to speak of past themes. I’m delighted the iron maiden is back. Haha.

Coast and Rex (@adventureswithcoast) were also able to see Jack in all his glory at the attraction he inspired.

Haunted Mansion Holiday will be open from September 3 until January 9, when the holiday season at Disneyland Resort ends. Here is more information on the fun overlay from the Disneyland website:

Pumpkin King Jack Skellington has been busy decorating the Haunted Mansion with frightfully festive touches inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Experience some of your favorite sights, special seasonal surprises—and scare-aracters from the movie. Sally, Oogie Boogie and other Nightmare nasties will be on hand to wish you “Season’s Screamings!”

If you are visiting Disneyland Resort and miss seeing Jack and Sally on one of the balconies of Haunted Mansion Holiday, you may want to head over to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. The two can sometimes be spotted on the balcony above the ride near the entrance to the Dream Suite. Tiana, Redd the pirate, and Captain Jack Sparrow himself can also be found at that location.
