Credit: DisneyThere is a lot going on at the Walt Disney World Resort right now. Tomorrow, October 1, The Most Magical Place on Earth will officially kick off its 50th anniversary celebration. There will be a ton of new offerings and experiences that Guests will be able to take advantage of throughout all four theme parks. However, the Disney World that Guests visit tomorrow will not be the same one that will exist when the celebration ends in 18 months.
Even though the 50th anniversary will start in 2021, there are a lot of incredible things that will be coming to Walt Disney World in 2022 and Disney is finally giving more of an inside look at what some of those things are.
Back in May, Disney announced that it would be converting approximately 200 hotel rooms into Deluxe Studio, One-Bedroom, and Two-Bedroom Villas for Disney Vacation Club members at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The news was received with a lot of excitement, as the Grand Floridian is one of the most popular resorts on property as it sits right next to the Magic Kingdom.
And today, Disney has finally given us a first look at what those Grand Floridian Deluxe Villas will look like. Take a look at the gorgeous renderings below!
Each of the Villas will follow the 1890’s Victorian0-era theming that the Grand Floridian is famous for. However, the three-bedroom villas will have some amazing Disney accents.
Disney Parks Blog shared some more information on what DVC Guests can expect from the Villas:
For larger families and multi-generational vacations, guests will enjoy plenty of room and comfort in the three-bedroom grand villa. These spacious accommodations sleep up to 12 guests, with two bedrooms that include two queen-size beds each, along with a primary bedroom that features a king-size bed. Three-bedroom grand villas also boast a dining area and expansive living room. Charming accents in the rooms include Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse Victorian-themed silhouettes and other artwork featuring Mary Poppins and Dumbo.
Disney has not announced an official opening date for the new Villas, but has said that they will open in the summer of 2022.
The opening of the DVC Villas will not be the only major happening at Walt Disney World in 2022. Disney has also just announced that the highly-anticipated new roller coaster Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will also be opening at EPCOT in 2022 as well.
