As we are quickly approaching the single digits for the 50th anniversary countdown, many expect crowds to begin to pile into Walt Disney World Resort.
Not only will Disney Enchantment and Harmonious debut, but there will be a plethora of other new offerings for Guests to enjoy, such as Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and the newly opened Space 220 restaurant. On top of that, it is also Halloween season, so Guests would also potentially be flocking to Orlando to check out all of the spooks, including the fun decor at Magic Kingdom and the After Hours Boo Bash event.
Although so much is coming up around the corner, and Florida tourism has been booming, crowds have dwindled at Walt Disney World. We have been paying attention to wait times over the past few weeks as school has once again commenced, and it seems that wait times are once again returning to a lower average wait, and they have been staying that way. Upon checking our My Disney Experience app, it seems that there are a lot of attractions that fall under the 5-10 minute wait category!
As we can see below, EPCOT, Magic Kingdom, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom attractions all have 5-minute waits! DINOSAUR, a popular attraction, has barely any wait along with other coveted attractions like the PeopleMover!
Kilimanjaro Safari’s, one of Animal Kingdom’s most unique attractions, is a low 10-minute wait!
We then see the 10-minute wait trend continue for many more attractions like Living with the Land, Mickey’s PhilharMagic, Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, and more!
Expedition Everest is only a 15-minute wait, along with Spaceship Earth, and Big Thunder Mountain is only 5 minutes longer at 20 minutes. We have seen wait times for both attractions skyrocket to well over 60 minutes this summer, so these times are a steal!
Tower of Terror and Peter Pan’s Flight typically garner massive crowds but are currently only in the 30-minute range.
Flight of Passage, an attrition known to hit over 4 hours in wait times, is only 40 minutes!
We can see Slinky Dog Dash and many other Disney’s Hollywood Studios attractions such as Smuggler’s Run and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway are among the higher wait times.
So, it seems that if you are looking to get on rides quickly, you should probably avoid Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but Disney’s Animal Kingdom will have you flying through the queues. Magic Kingdom also has a tonne of variety in terms of low wait times, as well as EPCOT!
With Lightning Lane around the corner, it will be interesting to see how many Guests purchase the new Disney Genie+ offering and how that will affect the regular standby queue.
Have you noticed a drop in crowds at Disney World as of late?
