When Walt Disney World Resort began its phased reopening process in July 2020 following its four-month pandemic-related closure, there were a number of changes to the Disney experience. Now, although many health and safety measures have shifted in accordance with current CDC guidelines, there are certain experiences that have not yet reopened on Disney World property. Among these are certain Resort hotels, such as Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort.
Now, it seems that the popular Disney Value Resort will be closed to Guests for the foreseeable future.
Per an official announcement from Disney:
We’re excited to continue welcoming Guests back to our Disney Resort hotels, such as at Disney’s All-Star Resorts, where we recently reopened the Music and Movies themes.
At this time, Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort will remain closed while we take the opportunity to refresh the Sports theme area, and we look forward to sharing a new reopening date for rooms in the Sports theme at a later time.
Guests with upcoming reservations will receive communication via email and will be instructed to reach out to their Travel Professional to modify their stay, at no additional charge. This modification will have no impact to other vacation experiences that may be booked, such as Theme Park reservations or dining.
As a reminder, we’re excited to reopen Disney’s Port Orleans Resorts next month for our Guests, with bookings available beginning Oct. 14 for Riverside and Oct. 28 for French Quarter, subject to availability.
Although it is unclear how extensive the Resort’s “refresh” will be, this is exciting news for Walt Disney World Resort Guests who enjoy taking advantage of the great prices at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort and its sister properties, Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort and Disney’s All-Star Music Resort.
Disney has not provided a timeline for the All-Star Sports Resort’s reopening at the time of publication.
Get in the game at this Resort hotel that salutes the world of competitive sports, including baseball, basketball, football, surfing and tennis. Go the distance and don’t be afraid to celebrate your inner fan amid sporty décor starring some of your favorite Disney characters.
