If you are looking forward to the 50th anniversary celebration at Walt Disney World, there is likely a large handful of experiences that you are expecting to see.
At EPCOT, the Beacons of Light will transform Spaceship Earth, alongside Harmonious, a new nighttime spectacular debuting, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure transporting Guests to Paris. Disney’s Animal Kingdom will have an all-new daytime show called Disney KiteTails, and the Tree of Life will gleam in projections. Disney’s Hollywood Studios will have Tower of Terror shimmering. One big change that all four parks will get to see is the new Fab 50 collection of golden character sculptures that are being added across the property to share the magic Disney has created over the past 50 years.
Today, we saw the unveiling of many of the interactive character statues, as Disney installed quite a few overnight at Magic Kingdom. Disney Parks Blog reported:
Today, I am excited to announce that the first Disney Fab 50 sculptures are in their place to share in the festivities. You can now visit Magic Kingdom Park and find some of your favorite characters in their new home for the next 18 months of the celebration. These 50 characters represent the stories that have moved us to dream bigger, follow our passions and believe in the power of magic. Each character shares in Walt Disney World Resort’s legacy of hope and optimism, where “two tiny wings” become a source of imagination, where sidekicks become heroes and where unlikely duos become the best of friends.
In the below video created by Disney, we can see Disney legends join together to debut these new sculptures. From Brett Iwan, the voice of Mickey Mouse, to Disney actor and lover John Stamos, to Imagineer Tony Baxter, to Susan Egan, and so many more, we can see that Disney has really rounded up a gang of true magic makers to have Guests excited for what is to come.
