When Guests visit Disney World, typically, they don’t expect to be evacuated from an attraction. Even though it is not the norm, Guests can be evacuated from any Disney attraction at any time!

When a ride breaks down or undergoes a maintenance issue that Disney cannot fix while Guests are aboard, they must remove all Guests in order to safely and successfully maintenance the attraction. Some attractions are easier to evacuate than others, depending on the ride vehicle in question.

This evening, Guests aboard Pirates of the Caribbean experienced a very different pirate adventure. It seems that Jack Sparrow was up to his tricks because the attraction had to be evacuated. Orlando-based content creator Molly Ann (@molls.ann) was on the attraction when the ride came to a stop.

As we can see from Molly’s Instagram story, the work lights for Pirates of the Caribbean turned on, but because it is a water attraction, the Guests had to get a spot in the attraction where they could safely exit. The boats began to move backward from the burning city scene to the scene with Redd, the red-headed pirates.

We can also see that a Cast Member was standing by in a wetsuit in order to ensure Guests would be able to exit the attraction safely.

Once the Guests exited the attraction closer to what looks to be the canon scene through a backdoor, they ended up backstage and guided back into Magic Kingdom.

Typically, when an occurrence such as this happens, Guests are given a FastPass or multiple experience pass so that they can ride another attraction while skipping a majority of the wait since their ride experience was interrupted. This ensures Guests are still able to have a magical experience, even if things do not go as planned!
