Expedition Everest in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is one of the most popular coasters on property. Guests are always eager to climb aboard the train and venture up into Mount Everest. However, as many of you know, the ride is soon interrupted when riders are stopped dead in their (broken) tracks.
With that being said, do you remember the first time you ever rode Everest and you were not expecting the coaster to stop and the tracks to be broken? Sitting there, stuck in your tracks (literally), beginning to think there is nowhere to go besides.. well, backward?
Well, that is exactly what happened to Disney World Guest and TikTok user @imofficialtre. Within the video below, you can see this Guest’s thought process through his facial expressions as he initially notices the broken tracks and literally says “wait a minute, wait a minute… are we about to go backward?’
Their reaction is hilarious as he was not expecting to be sent backward, into the dark, and be sent spiraling down into the mountain. Check out the video below, or by clicking here:
Many of us have ridden Expedition Everest time and time again, and so it is often forgotten what our very first experience was like. Seeing TikTok user @imofficialtre share his video of his first time on Everest sure brought a smile to my face, and I hope it brought one to yours as well.
More on Expedition Everest
The Walt Disney World website describes Expedition Everest as:
Wander into a Tibetan village at the base of Mount Everest and board a train to the “top of the world.”
Beware: Some say a legendary snow monster lives deep in the mountain.
After a steep ascent, your train picks up speed and races into the darkness. Without warning, a broken and twisted track appears in front of you. Brace yourself as you plummet backward into total darkness. Inside the cavern, the mythical tale comes true as you see the shadow of a massive, growling beast!
Race to escape the cursed mountain—before the Yeti claims another expedition.
