Get Groceries Delivered to Your Disney Hotel

Most grocery lists of Disney Guests consist of bottled water, packaged snacks, bread and PB&J, baby food, granola bars, fresh fruit, sunscreen, and more. Grabbing a rental car just for a trip to the grocery store can be an expensive hassle, so more families are turning to a grocery delivery via a service. If you’re planning to purchase groceries, one of these three services could be perfect for you!

You’ll need to look up the address for your Disney Resort Hotel, or chat with the WDW Cast Members online. The zip code for Disney World is 32830, so you can start there! Make sure your name “Guest ______” is on the address line, too!

And remember, if you don’t want to personally meet your delivery person, you don’t have to be present! The only exception here is for alcohol delivery, where you must be present with your photo ID.

Garden Grocer

Since 2005 (long before Instacart was even a thought) Garden Grocer has been delivering groceries to vacationers (and residents) in the Central Florida area. With over 350,000 orders in the last 16 years, Garden Grocer is a reliable, fair service that delivers not only over 5000 products but also special request items.

Traditionally, Disney World grocery delivery orders are placed a few days in advance (up to 60!) because next-day delivery has a surcharge of $20+. To keep it cheap, think ahead. During check out, they will ask you to choose your Disney Resort from the drop-down menu and pick a time slot for delivery, such as 8am-12pm, 12-4pm, or 4-9pm.

Instacart

Instacart has spread from San Francisco, California all the way to Orlando, Florida. The Uber eats-like delivery service patronizes several types of stores, and in Orlando, you can choose from multiple stores like Publix, ALDI, Target, Costco, and more. If you’re already a member of Instacart, add your Disney Resort Hotel address to your profile, mark directions to leave at Disney property Bell Services, and check out the same way you would as if you were home. Pick the 2-hour delivery window that works for you. It’s that easy!

Amazon Fresh or Amazon Prime

With many people being an Amazon Prime member (and therefore Amazon Fresh) members, it’s easy to associate this speedy delivery service with a Disney vacation. Simply load up your cart from the Amazon Fresh section and checkout. You can choose your grocery order delivery window and have fun while they ship to you!

Beware the Fees

Fees can hide in all sorts of places, and when it comes to groceries, they can be the delivery fees. Garden Grocer requires a $40.00 minimum order and has a $14 fee for all orders under $200. If you go over that subtotal, then the delivery charge is waived.

Instacart has $10.00 to $35.00 minimum orders for many stores and if you are not a member of the Instacart Express program, added fees can rack up. Don’t forget to tip your driver!

Amazon Fresh/Amazon Prime Pantry has its own membership via Amazon Prime and requires an order minimum. Free delivery is attainable by meeting the free delivery threshold in the area.

Disney Resorts themselves also have a hidden fee you should know about. Disney’s fine print on their mail services page mentions that grocery deliveries may be limited and if a “delivery service requires age or ID verification (alcohol etc.), Guests are required to meet and accept delivery directly from the vendor. Disney Resort hotels will not accept delivery of such orders on behalf of any Guest.”

For other grocery orders delivered to your Disney Resort hotel during your vacation, a $6 fee will be charged to your room account for each grocery delivery order brought to your room by Bell Services or Luggage Assistance. You can avoid this $6 charge by picking up your groceries in the hotel lobby at Bell Services (Luggage Assistance) at no charge.

If you have a split stay at a Disney Hotel and have leftover produce or cold storage, Bell Services will NO LONGER take any cold items with the luggage transfer. You will have to use them, dispose of them, or carry them with you.

When you’re ready to feast on vacation plans with the help of an authorized Disney vacation planner, call on the free help from Academy Travel! They can help you plan when to have your groceries delivered, too! It’s a simple as picking up the phone and calling 609-978-0740.
