If you are a Disney World foodie, you have likely been excited to see many Guest-favorite restaurants come back to life. But, you might be mourning the fact that popular buffets have either remained closed or been reimagined into family-style restaurants — until now!

Of course, as noted, former buffets such as Cape May Cafe at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort still give Guests an all-you-can-eat experience. Still, the food is brought to your table directly, much like Guests would have experienced previously at ‘Ohana or Garden Grill Table service delivery is a nice touch at times, but being able to walk up to a full buffet and peruse to your belly’s content is a real treat!

Recently, we heard Boma — Flavors of Africa will be reopening on August 20 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and the dining experience is the first to return as a full buffet! The location will offer African-style cuisine, and Guests can officially begin making reservations for breakfast and dinner.

Reservations for Boma can be made 60 days prior, and it seems they are going fast! At the moment, opening day and the following (August 20, 21) are both full. On August 22, the first available reservation is not until 8:50 p.m. at the time of this article’s publishing. If you want to ensure you have a spot at Boma on your preferred date and time, we suggest making that reservation sooner rather than later.

Disney describes Boma as:

Under thatched roofs, savor vibrant flavors from over 50 African countries—along with favorite American classics.

Greet your day with a cup of full-bodied Kenyan AA coffee, tropical juice and a bountiful breakfast buffet. Selections may include made-to-order omelets, French toast bread pudding, pastries, carved ham, fresh fruit and turkey bobotie—a type of South African quiche.

At dinner, watch chefs prepare Oak roasted meats, vegetarian specialties, coastal seafood dishes, fresh salads and house-baked pastries in the onstage kitchen. Kids can enjoy options like chicken nuggets, while Guests 21 years of age and up delight in unique South African wines—many of which are available by the glass.
