Credit: UniversalOne of the key parts of planning any Universal Orlando Resort vacation is deciding which one of the many restaurants you would like to eat at. Luckily, there is something for everyone at Universal. However, planning meals for your theme park vacation may have just gotten a little more complicated and expensive.
The Universal Orlando Resort is no longer offering its Dining Plan options for Guests. Universal had offered two types of dining plans prior to eliminating them — the Quick Service Universal Dining Plan and the Universal Dining Plan. The Quick Service Dining Plan was available to all Guests visiting Universal Orlando and the Universal Dining Plan was offered to Guests staying at a Universal Orlando Resort.
Details of both dining plans could be found on the Universal Orlando Vacations website. The Quick Service Dining Plan offered counter service meals and some savings to Guests who purchased it.

For Guests staying at a Universal Orlando Resort, there was a dining plan just for them.

With over 100 dining locations to choose from in Universal Theme Parks & Universal CityWalk™, enjoy one table service meal (entrée, dessert and non-alcoholic beverage); one counter service meal (entrée and non-alcoholic beverage); plus one snack and drink from select locations.
Unfortunately, all information about dining plans has been taken off of the Universal Orlando website, most likely meaning that the elimination of the dining plan is effective immediately. However, Guests who have already purchased a dining plan may use them, as Universal is not canceling dining plans purchased prior to the elimination.
The move to end the dining plan program comes not long after Universal also removed almost all restaurants from Mobile Order on its app. At this time, Universal has not announced whether or not they will bring the dining plans back in the future or whether the elimination is permanent.
