With all of the new Marvel films and series coming to life as Phase Four of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) begins to unfold, it seems Disney is finding new ways to promote its films.
Black Widow just debuted, starring Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow and Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova in both the theater and Disney+ with Premiere Access for $29.99. The film has done quite well, receiving an 80% on Rotten Tomatoes with a 92% viewer rating. With the debut of this film, we have started to see Disney use social media a lot more to market their films.
Major TikTok influencers who typically cosplay as certain Disney characters have teamed up with Disney to promote the movie. It seems that even something a random person Tweets may become the highlight of a brand-new billboard.

Mars saw bw (@yelenatfilms) posted a photo of a Black Widow billboard that features a previous Tweet written by them as a positive review from the movie.

Many, including myself, were unsure if the billboard was an edit or was actually real, although Mars continued to claim that it was.
Now, we can see that the official Black Widow (@theblackwidow) Twitter account has been responding to the Tweet and verifying the connection between the Twitter user and Marvel!

Mars received a message asking if Marvel could use her Tweet on a billboard, and she said yes! Likely, not knowing that this one advertisement would bring so many to her Twitter account. Mar’s Twitter account is seemingly a Black Widow fan account, so Marvel clearly chose a worthy fan to quote on their billboard.
After seeing this, I would not be surprised to see more Marvel fans Tweet positive reviews about films or series in the future, in hopes that they too may potentially have their Twitter handle on display for the world!
