Back in early May, Disneyland Paris announced that they would not require proof of vaccination when the theme parks reopened in June. And while that remains true — the Disneyland Paris Resort itself does not require proof of vaccination — Guests wishing to visit France will have to provide either proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 result before they are allowed to enter the country.

On July 12, French President Emmanuel Macron revealed that France would require travelers from outside the country to show one of two things — their vaccination cards, or a negative antigen test showing that they are COVID-free. Children under the age of 11 are exempt from this rule. Proof of vaccination or a negative test will be required before travelers board their flight, again when they arrive in France, and before they enter large event gatherings.

In response to the new guidelines, Disneyland Paris updated its website to reflect how it will change its theme park entry procedures. The Disneyland Paris website now states the following:

The French President Macron recently addressed the nation to unveil new measures meant to mitigate the spread of Covid across the country. Among these measures, he confirmed that a sanitary pass will be required as of July 21st for all leisure and cultural locations gathering more than 50 people. We remain open and our flexible commercial conditions continue to apply. We will adjust our operations to comply with the new measures and provide more updates as soon as possible. Due to a very high volume of calls, you may experience longer delays than usual when trying to contact us. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to welcoming you soon at Disneyland Paris.

For Guests traveling to the Paris theme park — or anywhere in France — they can simply show their EU Digital Covid Certificate. It is similar to digital vaccination cards that are becoming popular across the United States and confirms that the Guest has either had their vaccination, that they have obtained a negative COVID test result, or that they have recovered from COVID-19.

It is important to note that a negative COVID-test (also called a PCR test) must be obtained no earlier than 72 hours before travel. Guests who have a COVID test that is more than 72-hours old will have to get a more recent test as proof for travel.

In addition to providing either proof of vaccination or a negative test result, Disneyland Paris will require all Cast Members and Guests to wear face masks at all times, except while actively eating or drinking. For Guests who would like to receive another COVID-test while visiting the theme parks, an appointment can be made at the PCR testing facility in Disney Village.

President Macron has not said how long these vaccination and testing requirements will remain in place. France had opened itself back up to international travel — and Disneyland Paris also reopened — back in October 2020, but a surge in COVID cases caused the parks to shut down and the country to go on lockdown once again.
