Universal Orlando Resort is hot in the summer. Thankfully, at Islands of Adventure, there is an entire land that focuses on water attractions and water features to help keep you cool in the summer.
Ahead of the summer months, Universal is performing some maintenance on the water features in Toon Lagoon.
Toon Lagoon at Islands of Adventure is home to two water attractions that will leave you soaked for the rest of your day at the theme park after your ride. These are popular with Guests as Orlando can get extremely hot in the summer!
In addition to these water attractions, Guests can enjoy plenty of water features throughout Toon Lagoon. These features enhance the theming of Toon Lagoon and transport Guests back into the world of comic strips and lively characters.
Thanks to these Tweets from theme park reporter Bioreconstruct on Twitter, we can see the maintenance that is being performed:
It’s interesting that multiple water features are in refurbishment at the same time in Toon Lagoon.

At this time there is no word on when these specific water features will be back up and running.
Currently, the water rides inside of Toon Lagoon are both operating. These attractions are sure to keep you cool this summer when you visit Universal Orlando Resort.
Here is the official description of Dudley Do-Rights Rip Saw Falls:
Part roller coaster, part water flume, this ride combines the fun of the classic cartoons with edge-of-your-seat action. As our story unfolds, Snidely Whiplash has once again kidnapped fair Nell Fenwick, and it’s up to the lovably laughable Royal Canadian Mountie, Dudley Do-Right, to rescue her.
As your flume log sloshes its way through twists and turns, keep a lookout for funny puns and visual jokes that were a trademark of the animated series.
And once you find yourself approaching that final nail-biting 75-foot drop, get ready to whoosh down the track—underneath the water level—for the biggest splash of your life.
Here is the official description of Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges:
Get set for spectacular splashes and lots of silliness. That blowhard Bluto has made off with Popeye’s best gal, Olive Oyl, and the only way to save her involves an 18-foot octopus and a lot of water.
Hold on tight as you brave your way through raging rapids. And keep your eyes peeled for snippets of classic cartoon humor, including a super-sized cephalopod with 10-foot tentacles. You’ll laugh. You’ll scream. You’ll be really wet and squooshy.
Universal is also getting ready to debut a brand new attraction at Islands of Adventure based on the Jurassic World movies. This new roller coaster, the VelociCoaster, will have its grand opening on June 10.
