On May 9, Disney revealed details on the newest cruise ship that would be joining the Disney Cruise Line — Disney Wish. The new cruise ship is scheduled to set sail on its Maiden Voyage on June 9, 2022, and will have a number of immersive new Guest experiences — including Star Wars: HyperSpace Lounge and The Walt Disney Theater that will transport Guests into a magical forest.
Now we have new details on the AquaMouse, Disney’s first attraction at sea!

There is one thing that will set the Disney Wish apart from all the other cruise ships in the Disney Cruise Line Fleet. The Disney Wish will feature Disney’s first “attraction at sea”. The new attraction will be called the AquaMouse and boy does it look like a must-do!

Disney Parks Blog describes the brand-new cruise attraction below:
Families will be immersed in “The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse” animated shorts aboard AquaMouse, the first-ever Disney attraction at sea. Complete with show scenes, lighting and special effects, and splashtacular surprises, this first-of-its-kind water ride will send you on a fun family adventure through 760 feet of winding tubes suspended high above the upper decks.

Previously we have had a behind-the-scenes look at how hard Imagineers have been working on the Disney Wish AquaMouse. But now we have even more details including the attraction layout!
The journey will begin when you board a two-seater ride vehicles and ascend into a magical tunnel that will teleport you into the cartoon world of “Scuba Scramble,” a new animated short that plays out through oversized virtual portholes. Along the way, you’ll encounter curious sea creatures, familiar Disney friends and more than 60 water effects that bring the subaquatic hijinks to life – all perfectly synched to an original musical score by Emmy-nominated composer Christopher Willis (“The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse”).

What adds to the excitement of the Disney Wish AquaMouse is the fact that it is not a traditional waterslide where Guests simply go down. The AquaMouse has technology that will propel riders forward and up! The technology can also be experienced when Guests ride the Crush N’ Gusher at Disney World’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.

Disney Parks Blog discusses how this “water coaster” technology will be used on the AquaMouse.
At the height of the show, you’ll blast out of the tunnel and embark on a wild water ride around the upper decks. First, you’ll zip into the forward funnel through an enclosed tube surrounded by dazzling lighting effects, followed by a quick dash through a dark tunnel that opens up to reveal breathtaking views of the ocean.
You’ll then jet up and down a series of speed blasters as they are propelled toward the grand finale: a soaring loop over the edge of the ship, with clear views down to the deep blue sea. With that, you’ll splash down for a sendoff message from Mickey and Minnie – another successful tour in the books!

For Guests who would like to enjoy a tamer experience, the Disney Wish will also have six swimming pools of various depths located throughout the cruise ship and surrounded by comfortable lounge chairs.
Reservations for the Disney Wish will open up on May 27, 2021, for voyages to tropical locations — including Disney’s island Castaway Cay — beginning June 9, 2022.
