With the rate of COVID-19 vaccinations going up, and the rate of COVID-19 cases going down in the United States, things are slowly beginning to get back to “normal” throughout the country. However, things are still not as they once were, and Guests visiting Disney theme parks can see that first-hand. Between near-constant mandatory mask-wearing in Disneyland and modified character interactions at all the Disney Parks, Disney is still learning how to operate in a post-COVID world.

While there are many people who have already received, or will soon receive, their vaccines, there are many who are still not sure about it. Disney wants to encourage everyone who can, to get their COVID-19 vaccine, and to help spread the message, Disney has teamed up with the one and only Muppets!

Disney Parks Chief Medical Officer Dr. Pam Hymel shared the new Disney-Muppets team-up to Disney Parks Blog. Dr. Hymel wrote:

The consensus in the medical community is that vaccines can help protect you against COVID-19. And when you get vaccinated, you are part of a growing group immunity that helps to keep both you and others safe, especially those who are immunocompromised and can’t be vaccinated.

You may still have questions about getting vaccinated, and that’s ok! If you want to learn more, I invite you to check out GetVaccineAnswers.org. I hope that you’ll consider getting your shot and encouraging your friends and family to join you.

Dr. Hymel also shared a message from two of The Muppets themselves, Gonzo and Pepe. You can watch the adorable video below:

In addition to encouraging Guests to get the vaccine, Disney has also encouraged their Cast Members to vaccinate themselves to stay safe. Walt Disney World has paid its Cast Members when they receive the vaccine and Disneyland recently announced that they would open two vaccine sites on Disneyland Resort property and would offer the vaccine to, not only Cast Members but their families as well.

The increased rate of vaccinations has allowed Disney theme parks to ease up on their health and safety protocols. Walt Disney World recently eliminated mandatory mask wearing for Guests when they are outdoors and Disneyland may be able to increase their capacity as early as tomorrow. Guests at Disneyland must still wear masks at all times while on Disneyland Resort property.

Do you feel safer with more people being vaccinated while at Disney? Let us know in the comments!
