The Disney College Program at Walt Disney World has been suspended since 2020, but now we know that it is finally making a comeback! Disney has officially announced that the Disney College Program (DCP) will officially return this summer.
When participants return they will be housed in the brand new Flamingo Crossings Village complex. Here is everything you need to know about this change!
The Disney College Program is finally making a return to Walt Disney World as the Disney Resort continues to recover from the pandemic and bring more and more people back to work. You can read all the details on the return of the DCP here.
Previously, we have talked about Flamingo Crossings Village and how it will be the new home for all Disney College Program participants moving forward. Flamingo Crossings Village is located in Disney’s new retail, dining, and residential area of Flamingo Crossings, which is located behind Magic Kingdom off of Western Way.
Flamingo Crossings is only ten minutes from Magic Kingdom and will offer plenty of retail and dining options within walking distance of the Disney College Program housing at Flamingo Crossings Village. You can watch a tour of Flamingo Crossings Village here!
During the suspension of the college program, Disney did open up units at Flamingo Crossings Village to full-time Disney Cast Members who had a blue or green ID. Now, we have some new details from Disney on the housing at Flamingo Crossings Village.
I am sure this will be a delight to many Disney College Program participants to learn, but Disney has confirmed that at Flamingo Crossings Village roommates will be at a limit of four DCP participants per apartment. Personally, during my DCP I had 8 participants in one apartment!
Here are some of the amenities you can expect from the new DCP housing:
Flamingo Crossings Village, our new housing community, offers a variety of amenities for participants to enjoy. Community amenities include a resort style pool, study areas, fitness facilities, and limited transportation. Participants may bring their own vehicle for the duration of their program, but are required to purchase a parking decal.
Each apartment includes keyless entry, a Smart TV and in-unit washer and dryer.
All apartments, courtyards and breezeways are non-smoking; However, designated smoking areas are available at the housing complex.
The new housing looks beautiful and is packed with amenities!
No word yet on the Disneyland DCP, we will just have to wait and see when Disney restarts the DCP at Disneyland, hopefully in the near future.
