Could Universal Orlando be a Brightline stop? If that happened, what would it mean for your Universal vacations in the future?
According to the Orlando Business Journal, there are plans for Universal to propose a stop on the Brightline close to the Universal Orlando Resort:
Stakeholders such as the I-Drive business chamber of commerce and Universal Orlando Resort have been meeting or plan to meet with Brightline after a March presentation with the Central Florida Expressway Authority showed a potential path to the corridor, sources told Orlando Business Journal.
These talks are in a very early stage, and it is unclear at this time if anything will come from the proposal of a stop on the Brighline near Universal.
So what is the Brightline, and what could this mean for your Universal vacation in the future?
Brightline
The Brightline is a high-speed train that is coming to Florida. Brightline will run from the Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Miami, with future expansion projects already in the works. The train is already under construction, but has hit a delay and is not anticipated to be completed until at least 2025.
Disney has already secured a Brightline station for Walt Disney World, which we anticipate will be close to Disney Springs.
Currently, the planned stops for the Brightline are Orlando International Airport, West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Maimi, Disney, and Tampa.
It is no wonder that Universal is looking to have a station on the Brightline that would offer extra convenience for their Guests. Especially for those Guests who fly to Universal Orlando Resort that would be able to take the Brightline from the airport straight to Universal!
