Trader Sam, our favorite head salesman, has a new presence along the river at the Jungle Cruise and is ready to trade.

We mused on what Trader Sam’s fate would be when he went missing recently, and are looking forward to the full refurbishment and reimagining of the world’s exotic Jungle Cruise attraction – Let’s see where we can expect Sam to be!

Trader Sam rejoins the Jungle Cruise

Disney Parks Blog released new information today that Trader Sam’s essence is back on the river and collecting all your leftover safari goods for his new Lost & Found location. While the Disney artist’s rendering doesn’t show Sam himself (only the goods he has collected and some fun animals joining the sales crew), we’re excited to see his legacy lives on with his Trading Post.

While Disney fans won’t see an animatronic of Sam on the Jungle Cruise ride, we must remember that he’s out scavenging for new inventory and picking through old campsites for new gear to sell. No one is more resourceful than Sam!

Guests visiting Magic Kingdom Park may soon notice the latest updates coming to the Jungle Cruise as they come around that final bend. Trader Sam is charting a new adventure along the river at both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom Parks. Ever wonder what happened to that gramophone you accidentally left behind on the boat during your last adventure? How about that beloved pith helmet that went missing?

Word on the stream is that Alberta Falls, proprietor of the Jungle Navigation Company Ltd., has entrusted her longtime friend, Trader Sam, to manage the new Lost & Found location.  But, with Trader Sam being Trader Sam, there’s always an opportunity to make some extra money. After all, all the best rides end with a gift shop, right?

Take a look at this rendering of their newest venture together. Clearly, Sam is betting on an established reputation as the best merchant in the jungle! But, while he’s out lost and finding some new inventory, it’s the animals that get the last laugh!

It looks like since Sam will continue to have a presence at the Jungle Cruise attraction, Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar in California is safe from large sweeping changes. Cheers to that!

We can’t wait to hear what puns, jokes, and gags the Jungle Cruise Skippers have planned as we round the final bend in the ride. Stay seated, ladies and gentlemen, this will be a boat full of laughs!
