PeopleMover now open!

Despite the My Disney Experience app not currently being updated to reflect the live wait time for the PeopleMover at the time of this article’s publication, Guests have taken to social media to share that they are in fact riding the PeopleMover for the first time in over a year.

Some park Guests lined up all day, even waiting in the rain for the opportunity to ride this classic attraction. We previously confirmed that the PeopleMover would be reopening this weekend, and Disney had fans on the edge of their seat waiting as Disney took until Sunday afternoon to open the attraction.

It may take a while for the My Disney Experience app to become up-to-date with the current wait time of the PeopleMover, so keep that in mind if you are in Magic Kingdom today.

PeopleMover fan Lauren took to Twitter to share the happy news and a stunning photo of the PeopleMover in action!

i’m so happpyyyyyy #Peoplemover

Great photo, Lauren! We cannot wait to ride the PeopleMover on our next visit to the Magic Kingdom!

Currently, the attraction is still listed on the Disney World refurbishment calendar for today (even though it is open at this moment), but it is not listed as under refurbishment for tomorrow and beyond. It appears that we can all look forward to taking a ride on the PeopleMover as soon as we get back to the Most Magical Place on Earth.

What is the PeopleMover?

The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover is an attraction that takes riders on a relaxing scenic trip through Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Here is how Disney describes the attraction:

Board an elevated tram for a leisurely voyage through Tomorrowland. During your narrated tour, go behind the scenes of attractions like Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin, Space Mountain and Star Traders retail shop. See architectural models of Progress City, the prototype for Epcot.

You’ll enjoy amazing up-close views of the park from a unique vantage point.
