Today, the day before Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park reopen to the public, one Disneyland Resort hotel has officially reopened its doors and welcomed back Guests. After a year-long closure, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa in Anaheim reopened and welcomed Disney fans back to the magic.
Note that at this time, the Disneyland Hotel remains closed, and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel has not yet reopened either, making the Grand Californian the only onsite hotel available for Guests. But if you are a Disneyland theme park fan, you should consider staying here on your next visit (especially since it offers views into Disney California Adventure and a private entrance to and from the Downtown Disney District, making theme park accessibility very easy).

We are on Disney property today to get ready for the reopening of the Disneyland Resort theme parks, and we are so excited to be among the first to stay at Disney’s Grand Californian. This is a fan-favorite Disney hotel for so many reasons, and we know so many Disneyland fans are just as excited as we are for the magic to be back at this hotel.
There are a number of health and safety measures in place at the Grand Californian to keep all Guests and Cast Members safe during this time. The hotel is operating at a very limited capacity of under 30%, although Disney is continuing a phased reopening and hopes to welcome back more Guests in the coming months. Additionally, only limited dining locations are open at this time, and only Guests of the hotel are permitted to dine at the restaurants. Face masks are required at all times unless Guests are inside their hotel rooms, swimming, or eating and drinking.
Additionally, as Guests we were informed that currently, the special entrance from the Grand Californian to Disney California Adventure Park is not available. Guests staying at the Grand Californian can use the separate entrance to Downtown Disney and walk through Downtown Disney to get to the Disneyland Esplanade and (if they have a valid ticket and reservation) enter Disneyland and California Adventure.
In this article, we have included the most up-to-date photos of the hotel so you know what you can expect if you are planning to stay here anytime soon. The magic is back at Disneyland Resort!
