Easter crowds have definitely arrived at Disney World! The theme parks — including Magic Kingdom — are at capacity and crowds are flooding the Most Magical Place on Earth.

Holidays are typically quite popular at Disney World, especially when Guests have a day off from work! Many Disney World Guests likely took Friday off to commemorate Good Friday and the Easter weekend, which, in tandem with spring break crowds, guaranteed some capacity-filled days at the parks.

This is something we previously anticipated as we reported that all weekend, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios were all at capacity. The Florida Disney Parks are limiting capacity to 35% during the ongoing pandemic, and we knew as of last week that reservations for all four Disney World theme parks were completely booked. However, now that the Easter holiday has officially arrived, it seems very clear that the crowds have as well.

Today, as we report from Magic Kingdom, we have been met with quite a full park! As you can see below, by midday and early afternoon, the walkway in Tomorrowland was very full, and although social distancing is still being promoted by Cast Members and face mask rules and regulations are strictly in effect, it is hard to deny that this is quite a busy park day amid the pandemic.

As we continued to explore the park to see if perhaps the crowds were isolated in certain areas, we found that other walkways throughout Magic Kingdom were bustling with Guests as well. Over in Frontierland and Adventureland, we noticed very similar crowd levels.

As mentioned, currently, Disney World has kept their capacity at 35%. That being said, in the past, Disney has raised their capacity silently, so that number is subject to change.
Plus, we have reported that Disney’s CEO Bob Chapek noted that an increase of capacity is dependent on the rollout of the vaccine. With Florida opening up vaccines to anyone over the age of 18 on April 5, and with President Biden’s Chief Medical Advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci noting that a lot of pandemic regulations could be relaxed by the Fourth of July, it seems it may be likely for Disney World to be able to increase capacity once again.
All of this being said, even with the large crowds, wait times for attractions are not that long! As we can see below, Haunted Mansion, Peter Pan’s Flight, Mickey’s PhiharMagic, and The Magic Carpets of Aladdin are all around a 30-35 minute wait.

Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train are all around 40-50 minutes, with Splash Mountain having the longest wait time of 85 minutes. And if you don’t wait to wait, why not hang around Cinderella Castle, as well!

We will continue to await more news from Disney and keep checking the Disney Park Pass reservation system calendar to get an idea of which parks are hitting capacity time and time again.
