It is time once again to see what attractions will not be available in April at Universal Orlando Resort. Know before you go! We will break down each unavailable attraction between the three parks — Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay water park, so that you can better plan your vacation.
Universal is home to a plethora of exciting attractions between its two theme parks and one water park. That being said, with the attractions running year-round it is important for them to undergo maintenance to continue to run smoothly for Guests visiting the resort.
Additionally, some of the attractions that are closed are apart of the advanced health and safety precautions during the pandemic. You will notice many of the high-touch areas, such as children’s play areas, are closed at this time.
We got this information straight from Universal, but like everything in theme parks, the details are subject to change. Be sure to continue to check your Universal app when you visit the park for the most up-to-date status of any attraction!
Universal Studios Florida
Here is what will be unavailable in April at Universal Studios Florida. Many of these attractions were also unavailable in March and, again, many children’s play areas are still not safe to open at this time.

- Kang & Kodos’ Twirl ‘n’ Hurl
Kang & Kudo’s Twirl ‘n’ Hurl will also be operating off and on, and Universal recommends checking their app when you visit to see the operational status of the attraction.

Volcano Bay has no refurbishments scheduled for April!
Additionally, Universal is gearing up to open a brand new attraction — the VelociCoaster at Islands of Adventure and it looks incredible! You can see the new coaster which has been testing heavily during park hours — very exciting. Universal has not yet given a firm opening date for VelociCoaster, but we know it is coming this summer.
