Universal has raised prime parking rates to $50 — up $10 from the previous $40. While this is nothing new, as Universal has consistently raised parking prices over the years, at $50 we wonder if Prime Parking is worth it.
Here is everything you need to know about parking at Universal and if we think $50 prime parking is worth the cost.

We confirmed with Universal that Prime Parking has raised to a staggering $50 a day. Here are the details.
Prime Parking at Universal
What is Prime Parking and what does it get you? Prime Parking gets you a spot as close as possible to the entrance of CityWalk inside the parking garages. This is not a valet service. Universal does offer valet services — however, they are currently suspended due to the pandemic.
You can get a free upgrade to Prime Parking if you have a rental car from Avis or Budget rentals from the Orlando International Airport (MCO).
Parking at Universal Orlando Resort
You have other options when it comes to parking at Universal Orlando Resort. Universal has two oversized parking garages that Guests park in when they visit. You must park in these garages and walk through CityWalk in order to get to Universal Studios Florida or Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme parks.
If you are heading to Volcano Bay water park, you will also park in the parking garages by following signs for Volcano Bay parking.
Regular Parking is $26 daily, which is already expensive, but nothing unexpected from a theme park. R/V or bus parking is $32 per day.
Some Universal Annual Passes offer free parking included with the pass, while others can get you a discount. It is worth looking into an Annual Pass option if you frequently visit Universal Orlando Resort!
Is Prime Parking worth the price hike?
My opinion? No. If you don’t mind walking the extra few minutes you can save money by skipping on Prime Parking. Prime Parking only saves you a few steps and costs you an extra $24 over Regular Parking. You can do a lot at Universal for $24, like purchase a few butterbeers or take a box of Voodoo Doughnuts home with you.
