Disneyland "Reopening Rally" Becomes Celebration - Inside the Magic

Recently, Disneyland lovers received the best news that has been announced this past year — Disneyland will be able to reopen shortly! Considering Disneyland Resort’s closure is coming up on a year at this point, knowing that there is a light at the end of the tunnel is fantastic news, especially to southern California locals and Legacy Passholders who have been patiently awaiting the news. 

Governor Newsom will now allow Disneyland to reopen in the Red Tier of California’s “Blueprint for a Safer Economy”. Due to the amendment, the “Blueprint Refresh” now states that the parks can only reopen at 15% capacity in the Red Tier. Before knowing this, a rally to reopen Disneyland and support Cast Members was getting ready to take place.

 

Originally, former Cast Member Nicholas Maldonado created a Facebook event titled “Reopen Disneyland Rally”. The event was set to take place on March 13, 2021, at 8:00 a.m. PST. The event read:

As We gather Safely together In Solidarity Of All Disney Cast members, All Theme Park workers calling for The Re-opening Of Disneyland& All Theme Parks which by these efforts will boost those small businesses as well Through AB-420: https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/…/billTextClient…

Required Health&Safety guidelines to be followed:
1. Masks On at all times.
2. Keep 6feet apart from eachother.

The event supported AB 420, which asserts that all theme parks in the state should be eligible to reopen, with appropriate health and safety measures in place, in tier 3 instead of tier 4 of California’s Blueprint For a Safer Economy. Now, considering Governor Newsom relaxed the theme park reopening guidelines, a rally is no longer necessary, so Maldonado will be hosting a celebration instead.

The new event, which is now titled “The ReturnToMagic Rally”, the description reads:

As We gather Safely together In Solidarity Of All Disney Cast members, All Theme Park workers In Celebrating The Progress We all Accomplished with The ANNOUNCEMENT Of The Re-opening Of Disneyland& All Theme Parks Thursday April 1st Soon as We enter the Red tier Which by these efforts will boost those Small businesses made by AB-420,

Thanking All those for making this very moment happen Which those individuals will all be named during the rally.

In the past, other Disneylanders in Orange County rallied to reopen the parks, so a celebration seems like the perfect thing to do. All of this being said, Disneyland will still need to enter the Red Tier to reopen, and once it does, according to the state, California residents will be the only ones allowed to make up the 15% capacity that the parks will hold.

Until then, Disney will run its Touch of Disney event at Califonia theme park Disney California Adventure where Guests will once again be allowed to venture through DCA while eating and drinking all the best foods. At the moment, Disneyland has not announced a reopening date, but one is excepted to be announced soon.
