Yesterday, Inside the Magic reported that Disneyland has made the decision to delay their reopening for its theme parks — Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure — along with the Disneyland Resort hotels.

Once Disneyland made this announcement, California Governor Gavin Newsom expressed how much he appreciated Disney’s response to his concerns regarding reopening the theme parks. Spokesman Nathan Click stated, “The state and our public health experts continue to be in contact with the company and their workers — as well as other theme parks in the state — as we track and combat the spread of the virus.”

And now, according to a tweet from Natasha Chen with CNN, the California Governor is, once again, complimenting Disneyland on their decision to delay their reopening.

The tweet reads:

“California Gov. Gavin Newsom is publicly complimenting Disney on their decision to hold off on reopening Disneyland next month as planned: ‘This is an example of the data informing the decision making, and that is exactly what we need to be doing moving forward.'”

More Information on Disneyland Delaying the Reopening

Disneyland Resort has officially made the decision to delay the reopening dates for their theme parks. However, Downtown Disney will still reopen on July 9.

The reopening of the hotels on Disneyland property have also been delayed. These include Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, which were both originally scheduled to reopen on July 23.

It is important to keep in mind that the State of California have stated that they will not issue theme park reopening guidelines until after July 4. Also, at this time, Disney is continuing negotiations with unions that represent Disneyland Resort Cast Members. Inside the Magic will continue to update you as we get more information.
