The pandemic has brought a great deal of hardship to the Walt Disney Company, especially in its theme park division. After having to lay off tens of thousands of Cast Members, it seems Disney is trying to give back to those who are still working for the House of Mouse.Â
On the Walt Disney World Cast and Community Facebook page, Disney announced that they have issued awards to 1,000 Cast Members for their service!
Our Cast Activities team has been distributing over a 1,000 Service Awards all month long, recognizing our Cast Members who are celebrating anywhere from 1 to 45 years with Disney. We want to give a big shout out to this team for their continued dedication to recognizing our Cast Members while adapting to a safer event featuring contactless drive-thru celebrations. So thank you — for never failing to make magical moments for our Cast and putting a smile on their faces.

A few weeks ago, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Josh D’Amaro was seen at Disney World awarding Cast Members. It seems that Disney has been looking to give back to many of their employees who have been keeping smiles on Guests’ faces during these trying times.Â
From the photos shared, it appears that the awards Cast Members received were pins or statues of Simba from The Lion King. Although we do not know what each award specifically means, it is great to know that Cast Members are being acknowledged for all of their hard work, especially considering so many have been wondering if their jobs were still secure for the past few months.Â
All of us at Inside the Magic would like to extend our congratulations to all Cast Members who have received an award, as well as a thank you to every Cast Member who has continued to keep the magic alive in Walt Disney World’s theme parks!
