Whether you are an Orlando local, or you are vacationing in sunny Central Florida, you have likely nothing that the pandemic has brought along a handful of changes — one major change being nightlife.

At both Disney World and Universal Orlando, we have seen cuts to theme park hours so that Guests usually do not have too much to do in the evening. Disney World, of course, has Disney Springs which typically closes at 10:00 pm due to the pandemic, but as the food and dining location has been picking up larger crowds it seems that some Guests are turning to Universal’s CityWalk as the new hangout spot.

For those who may not know, CityWalk is the Disney Springs of Universal. Although it is not nearly as large, CityWalk boasts numerous food and dining locations, shopping, and a very fun and youthful nighttime vibe with karaoke bars available to Guests! Plus, Universal CityWalk is directly connected to both Universal Studios and Universal’s Islands of Adventure. Therefore, even when the parks close early, and you want to keep the fun going, just take a few steps out into CityWalk!

Lately, it seems that more Guests are starting to not only visit Universal Orlando Resort more often for their theme parks, but the nighttime crowding has picked up as well. At around 8:00 pm on a Wednesday, you can clearly see that huge crowds of Guests were filing into CityWalk to enjoy some food and drinks.

I have personally only been to about a quarter of the dining locations offered at CityWalk, but so far, my experience has been fantastic. Plus, with Universal’s CityWalk having a more urban and bar-like party atmosphere, it is a great alternative and contrasting experience to Disney Springs, which prioritizes the family experience.

Plus, they have Voodoo Doughnuts, which has some of the best doughnuts in Central Florida.
