Universal's The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man Undergoes Updates - Inside the Magic

Universal Orlando Resort has some pretty fantastic attractions, but after a while, every ride needs some sprucing up! It seems like the Universal team is currently cleaning the cobwebs off The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man, giving it a fresh facade.

The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man is located in Universal’s Islands of Adventure and is a 3-D / 4-D motion simulator attraction. As described on the Universal website:

Blast Into Action With Spider-Man

Strap on your 3-D glasses and join the world’s most famous web slinger in a high-flying virtual reality ride. The villains of the Sinister Syndicate have stolen the Statue of Liberty and it’s up to Spidey to save the day.

You’ll face a cast of Marvel characters as you soar above the streets, scale skyscrapers and battle bad guys left and right. The high-definition 3-D graphics are so vivid, you might catch yourself counting the stitches on Spider-Man’s gloves. Just watch out for the 400-foot freefall.

Considering the attraction opened in 1999, it is not surprising that The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man needs to undergo refurbishments to stay up to date. Biorecontruct (@bioreconstruct) took to Twitter to showcase the entrance of the attraction, which is currently boarded up and under refurbishment.

It seems that guests looking to ride The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man can still do so, however, they will not be able to use the typical entrance because the front of the attraction is now undergoing updates. Considering guests are entering the attraction at a location down the block from the ride’s actual entrance likely means that a large portion of this attraction’s queue will be missed. That being said, this reporter wonders if it will just be the entrance that gets a revamp, or if the queue itself will be experiencing some more changes as well.

For now, guests should note that although the front of The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man is under construction, the ride itself is not down. The attraction was not listed in Universal Orlando’s refurbishment calendar in terms of attractions that had to close to undergo their updates — so defeating Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, and the rest of the Spider-Man villains is still on the agenda!
