Universal Orlando Resort has announced the reopening date of the newly-upgraded version of their popular “The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man” ride at Islands of Adventure. Thursday, March 8, 2012, will be the debut of the ride’s new 4K digital high-definition animation, a new musical score, and new 3-D “Spider-Vision” glasses.
Included among the anticipated changes to the ride are lifelike animation, an upgraded ride vehicle audio system featuring 16-channels of sound, enhancements to lighting, sets, graphics, props and scenic detail, and a cameo from legendary comic book icon and Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee.
Through gathering additional “likes” on Facebook, Universal Orlando is offering new sneak peeks of the new HD ride animation at theamazingadventuresofspider-manatuniversalorlando.com, including glimpses of the Hobgoblin, Dr. Octopus, and other villains.
Universal has also offered a peek at the new “Spider-Vision” glasses riders will wear, enabling higher-resolution 3D imagery:
