Universal Studios Hollywood is moving quickly on building their Super Nintendo World expansion. Last month we gave an update of the green mountains that are beginning to take shape in the lower lot of Universal Studios. Now we have a new update showing more green mountains and what appears to be the structure of Bowser’s castle which will be the entrance to the Mario Kart ride! Let’s take a look!
Universal Studios Hollywood is currently closed due to pandemic regulations in the state of California. Right now you can visit CityWalk at USH for to-go food (which cannot be consumed on the property) and a fun atmosphere.
Thanks to Universal CityWalk being open some theme park enthusiasts and Universal fans have been able to get some incredible photos and videos of the ongoing construction of Super Nintendo World on the lower lot. Here is a video from Theme Park Obsessed on Youtube that shows the new green mountains that have been added and the Bowser’s Castle structure that is shaping up nicely!
The Super Nintendo World footage starts at 7 minutes, but the entire video is worth a watch if you love Universal Studios Hollywood!
No word from Universal on when the Super Nintendo World expansion will be open in Universal Studios Hollywood. However, comparing the construction progress to the sister Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Japan I would speculate that this project could have about a year left before it has its grand opening.
This expansion will be a huge draw for Universal Studios Hollywood as they eventually reopen to the public. We have no indication of when Universal Studios Hollywood will open the theme park, but hopefully, we see it reopen in 2021 and get an opening date for Super Nintendo World too.
