Universal Hollywood is continuing to serve Butterbeer and other treats from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at a location in CityWalk despite new COVID restrictions put in place.
Previously we reported on the popup location that would be serving up the fan-favorite Hot Butterbeer for the Holiday season in CityWalk. It seems as though the shop was successful for Universal and they have expanded the hours of operation for the new location.
According to a report from The Daily News, the pop-up Butterbeer location was so popular that it will be open daily from noon-8pm.
This announcement may be a surprise to some as L.A County has just put out a stay-at-home order and a ban on outdoor dining. However, Butterbeer is only being served as a to-go item so it is inline with the current orders put in place by California as the to-go item is not considered outdoor dining.
Universal Hollywood’s official website states no indication of a plan to re-close the shopping and dining district during these newly imposed restrictions. Their website says:
Everyone needs holiday joy more than ever this year. Come get it here at CityWalk with incredible shopping, sumptuous takeout options, and a great place to snap that perfect holiday photo. We’re ready with cheery holiday decorations and an amazing Christmas tree! Plus FREE self-parking*!

Universal Hollywood has been very vocal about the restrictions put on the theme parks in the state of California by its government. Saying that the reopening guidelines for their theme parks make “no sense”.

We will have to wait and see if Universal decides to close CityWalk once again amid more strict coronavirus mandates by the government of California.
