The first refurbishment of several archway entrances into the Walt Disney World Resort has finally reached completion.
Instagram user and Disney fanatic Blair Eubanks (@blairwdw) shared a picture of the now-completed Western Way entrance writing, “Makes me smile to drive under this arch, especially with the new look.”
Check it out:
It is clear that the actual signage is almost exactly identical to the concept art posted several weeks ago. The old color scheme has been replaced by an elegant combination of gray, blue, white, and gold, and we see the proper slogan “The Most Magical Place On Earth” hanging overhead. One can even see, ever so slightly, the rays of pinkish purple in the flags on top.
Here is a picture of the concept art for comparison:
We at Inside the Magic have been keeping up with the progress of these changes since the news was released. From the installation of the new slogan to the traffic the construction is causing. So, far only the Western Way Entrance is the only one to be completed. Out of the eight entry points onto Disney World property, five of them have a gateway like this, including the entrance via Oceola Parkway. It also coincides with the refurbishment of the Magic Kingdom’s toll gate entry.
Disney World has not released a time frame on when the other archways will be completed, but considering which one they started with, it appears that they are going in order of business.
