Walt Disney World Resort’s Disney Springs shopping and dining area has once again reached capacity this evening. The entertainment district is particularly popular, as one might expect, on the weekends and it has not been uncommon for capacity crowds to converge on the outdoor mall.

There have also been some questions about how much capacity has been raised at Disney Springs. Disney has not made any official announcements regarding the district, but Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Chapek has confirmed that Walt Disney World theme park capacity has increased.

Tonight, Guests and Orlando news outlets have taken to social media to share details about the crowds at Disney Springs.

Orlando FOX 35 reporter Amanda McKenzie posted:

AT CAPACITY: @DisneySprings is closed due to reaching capacity. Hundreds of cars are packed on Buena Vista Drive right now as deputies turn them away #FOX35

Another Twitter user noted that “Disney Springs might be more packed than Universal Studios.”

Unlocking the Magic wrote:

Holy crowds! Disney Springs packs them in for sure on a weekend night.

It is important to note that, whether or not capacity has increased at Disney Springs, Guests are still required to abide by various health and safety protocols, including face masks for everyone aged 2 and over.

The Disney Springs website features this health notice:

As we continue our phased reopening of Disney Springs with a number of shopping and dining locations, we are eager to welcome back our Guests, some Cast Members and third-party Operating Participants with safety and well-being of all at the forefront of all our planning efforts.

As we navigate through this unprecedented time as responsibly as we can, we have implemented a number of new safety measures based on guidance from health authorities, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and appropriate government agencies. We, along with third-party Operating Participants, are all committed to a responsible reopening of Disney Springs.
