As we wait for Disneyland Resort to reopen, it has been fun to see parts of Disneyland and Disney California Adventure come alive! We have seen everything from landscaping to horses galloping down Main Street USA. A fun way to check out what is going on at Disney is the Mattercam which livestreams skyline views of Disneyland Resort.
And sometimes when you are watching, you can catch a fun glimpse of something going on at DLR. During the theme park closure, the Mattercam has been extra magical as we haven’t been able to experience Disneyland or Disney California Adventure for over 7 months. A few days ago, a Mattercam magical moment happened when we were able to see Sleeping Beauty Castle lit up!
Mo_Disney23 took to Twitter to share the video of Disneyland at around 7:00 pm, and we were able to see Sleeping Beauty Castle’s freshly painted colors in all their glory as the park lit up the iconic castle. Check out the video below to have a few seconds of magic fill your day:

It may not be much to see the Disneyland castle lit up, but there is a undeniable sense of home and comfort when we can see the park looking just how we remembered it.
When will Disneyland Resort reopen?
Inside The Magic has been following the Disneyland Resort reopening news from the start, and it is definitely not a simple one. Developments have been made each day between the ongoing disputes with Disney and Governor Newsom. We were expecting to see reopening guidelines from Newsom last week, but after the CAPA (which represents Disneyland Resort, Universal Studios Hollywood, and more CA theme parks) took a look, they wanted to make some changes, and the release was postponed.
Since then OC Health Officials have taken a look at Disneyland and added to their safety measures, and no further news has been stated from Newsom regarding the olive branch extended from the CAPA aside from the fact that the Governor is in “no hurry” to reopen the parks.Â
Although Disneyland and Disney California Adventure may be currently closed, Guests can still go and visit the magic of Downtown Disney as it is operating daily at a limited capacity!
Stay tuned to ITM for more details on Disneyland’s reopening, but for now we can imagine that Disneyland is back open with this video of the Sleeping Beauty Castle lit up!
