If you are planning on heading to Magic Kingdom on your next Disney World vacation, you should account for extra time when leaving the park. Lines to exit MK today for both the monorail and the ferry boat boasted huge crowds and 40-minute waits to just board the Disney Parks transportation.

Edge on Travel visited Magic Kingdom today — which closed at 6:00 PM ET — and as they were leaving over 50 minutes past park closing, they took to Twitter to showcase the long lines to board both the monorail and the ferry to return to the Disney World Ticket and Transportation Center.

If we take a look at the photos, there are definitely large crowds collecting at both Magic Kingdom exit ports, even though the park closed well before these photos were taken. That being said, if you are headed to Magic Kingdom and want to avoid the large crowds at the end of your theme park day, it may be best to leave mid-day, opposed to park close.
Although lines do look very full, it seems that once you look closely, most Guests are trying to keep their distance, and masks are being worn properly. Disney recently began strictly enforcing their mask policy with a threat of being removed from the park without proper compliance, so it is nice to see that Guests are taking the signage and park announcements seriously, even upon leaving the park.

It is important to note that even though the exit lines are boasting wait times of 40 minutes, the Disney World Resort is still operating at 25% capacity. Governor DeSantis has allowed the park to open to full capacity, but at this time, Disney World is continuing to listen to the guidelines imposed by the CDC and operate at this reduced capacity.
Do you think these lines at the end of the day at Magic Kingdom are too long? Let us know!
