Disney has been hit hard by this pandemic, there’s no questioning that. With Disneyland Paris announcing their second closure as France returns into lockdown, the resort joins Disneyland and Disney California Adventure in Anaheim as an empty sitting Disney theme park, due to the coronavirus.
However, we do have a plan from Disneyland Paris regarding how long they plan to keep the resort closed for, and it’s very interesting because it involves attempting to be reopened for the holiday season, but then what would be a third closure for the parks.
In line with latest direction from the French authorities, Disneyland Paris will be closing end of day on October 29th. In anticipation of celebrating the Christmas holiday season we will be taking reservations from December 19 – January 3 and hope to be open based on prevailing conditions and government guidance at that time. Disneyland Paris will be closed from January 4 through February 12. Please check back on the website for regular updates. If you have a booking with us during the above-mentioned periods, please check here for our latest commercial conditions.
We thank you for your continued loyalty and understanding during this difficult period.
If we break this down, here is what we know. Disneyland Paris will officially close for it’s second time during this pandemic on October 29th, 2020 at the end of the park day. However, DLP will still be taking reservations from December 19th through to January 3rd for the Christmas season, in hopes that France’s condition betters itself under government guidance. They then plan to close again, for what will be the third time, from January 4th through to February 12th.
It is clear that Disneyland Paris truly would like to be open and capitalize on the holiday season, which Disney is hoping will be a quarter that will help the company finically recover from the closures, and billions of dollars they have lost.
Disneyland Paris also released an official statement on Twitter, and allowed Guests to know what to do if they have a vacation booked during their closure:

President Macron released just yesterday that the new measures would begin Friday, October 30, so Disneyland Paris did extend their run for as long as possible. People will only be allowed to leave home for essential work or medical reasons. Non-essential businesses, such as restaurants and bars, will close, but schools and factories will remain open, of course, Disneyland theme park is considered non-essential.
The President of France will be reassessing the situation and standing of the countries safety every 15 days, so please continue to check back to Inside the Magic so that you can know exactly what is going on at Disneyland Paris. As of now Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios Park, and Disney Village will be closing as of the evening of October 29th, with a hopeful holiday reopening.
If you currently have a Disney vacation booked but are looking to reschedule due to the temporary closures, make sure to get in contact with your travel agent.
