Recently the Disneyland Resort just announced a limited reopening of Disney California Adventure’s Buena Vista Street. But what can we expect from the reopening — or rather, what food will be available?
The reopening is said to include retail, some dining areas, and to include a number of food carts.
So far we’re aware of only some of the locations that will offer our favorite Disney snacks, treats and meals. But with the holidays around the corner, we’re hoping for a diverse variety of eats both festive and not.
According to Disney Parks Blog, we can expect to find snack foods at Trolley Treats, Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Café (Starbucks), and a variety of snack carts all along Buena Vista Street. As for the variety in snack carts, we’re also hoping to see plenty of holiday-themed snacks.
However, with the announcement of Buena Vista Street reopening on November 19, we were given an insight as to what foods we can expect during the initial opening.
For Carthay Circle Lounge and Restaurant, the resort announced:
A new outdoor dining environment and menu featuring Mediterranean-California light fare, with small plates that can be shared or enjoyed separately at Carthay Circle Lounge. The seasonal menu created by Chefs Andrew Sutton and Alex Flores will feature the Carthay shrimp roll, harissa-roasted lamb, soy-glazed salmon, lemon-crusted fish of the day and an artisan cheese board. Kids will find menu options just for them, including orecchiette pasta with marinara and orange dragon chicken skewers. Relax and step back in time at this throwback venue that boasts distinct attention to detail.
As for Smokejumpers Grill, their menu seems to have stayed the same. They will continue to serve their yummy cheeseburgers, chicken tenders, onion rings, waffle fries, and delicious milkshakes!
Also, Award Wieners will be open and offering soft drinks and corn dogs- and I know many of us are excited for that!
Even though these menu items aren’t seasonal by any means, it’s important to note that in Disneyland’s official announcement they are urging Guests to “stay tuned for more holiday happenings”! So, we can still expect to hopefully see some holiday menu items coming soon!
Last year, DCA debuted plenty of festive churros for everyone’s taste bud last year. Hopefully there will be a churro cart available for traditional churros and festive ones.
Another big item that debuted last year, was DCA’s holiday cotton candy! The park had a few outdoor carts that had Hot Chocolate, Snowflake, and Peppermint Tree-Shaped Cotton Candy.
Sit down dining will be available for Guests at Carthay Circle Lounge. Anyone that has dined at Carthay Circle knows that their menu often changes with the seasons. We hope 2020 is no exception, and we’ll be keeping a lookout for some deliciously festive dishes and possibly a holiday crafted cocktail or two. Last year, they had a fun Sleigh Ride cocktail made with gin and berry liqueurs.
Smokejumpers Grill will be available for Mobile Order via the Disneyland App. This location does offer some sort of festive specialty beverage of some sort among their American classics, so we’ll be sure to keep our eyes on this menu.
It’s important to remember that no holiday themed menu items have officially been announced for this phased reopening. These are simply our hopes for the holidays on Buena Vista Street at DCA!
What treats and eats are you looking forward to during DCA’s partial reopening? Let us know in the comments!
