Tribute: Happy Birthday, Mark Hamill!

Today is Mark Hamill’s 69th birthday! To celebrate the man who brought Star Wars‘ Luke Skywalker and so many other unforgettable characters to life, fans have been taking to social media to wish the actor a very happy day!

The official Star Wars account wrote, “Join us in wishing the legendary @HamillHimself a very happy birthday!”

Mark Hamill introduced the world to the Star Wars Universe alongside Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, James Earl Jones, and Alec Guinness in 1977. He would work to restore balance to the Force as Luke Skywalker in A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. 

While he would go on to play other voiceover roles such a the Joker, he was forever known as Luke Skywalker. He would return to the role for The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, and The Rise of Skywalker.
