When Walt Disney World Guests go back to Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels, they will find the Disney Stores permanently closed.
This news was confirmed by the front desk at the Holiday Inn at Disney Springs who said that Disney has decided to close all of the stores located in the Disney Springs hotels.
While a motive for the closure cannot be confirmed, one could argue that demand–or lack thereof–could be a major factor. During the quarterly earnings call on August 4, more and more hotel cancelations have been confirmed by Disney execs even after the Walt Disney World Resort reopened to Guests in mid-July. This lack of demand from hotel Guests can be noticed on the Disney Park Pass system too as more Park Passes are diverted from the still-full “buckets” set aside for Disney Resort Guests and theme park ticket holders for Annual Passholders.
