Even though Disneyland Resort’s two theme parks remain temporarily closed, many of the shops and restaurants at Downtown Disney are open and ready to serve Guests!

One such business is the California Churro Company, which is currently serving-up the perfect summer treat: a churro ice cream sandwich!

In this Instagram post on their July 9 reopening date, California Churro Company shared the plain cinnamon sugar version of the cool warm-weather Disney snack.

More recently, they posted a new flavor to social media.

The California Churro team shared a picture of the sweet summertime treat on Instagram with the caption:

The Fruity Pebble Churro Ice Cream Sandwich is “insanely good, insanely messy, and totally worth it” as quoted by @foodatdisneyland . We couldn’t agree more !

The churro ice cream sandwich “bun” is dotted with confetti-like pieces of Fruity Pebbles and a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream is in the middle, begging for a big bite!

In addition to the churro version of an ice cream sandwich, the California Churro Company kiosk at Downtown Disney offers a variety of traditional churro flavors as well. This Oreo option that was recently featured on Instagram is a must-try.

The caption on the picture of the cookie-inspired churro reads:

Oreo + Churro = The best combo ever 😋! The Oreo Churro is rolled in its own Oreo sugar coating and has a cream filling that is super delish. Have you tried one yet?

Churros are a longstanding snack tradition at Disney Parks around the world. Both U.S. parks, Disneyland in California and Disney World in Florida, have all sorts of churro variations, including glitter churros.

When will Disneyland and Disney California Adventure reopen?

Neither Walt Disney Company executives nor California state government officials have provided much information about when Disneyland Resort will be allowed to reopen to Guests.

Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure theme park were originally set to reopen on the Disney Resort’s 65th Anniversary on July 17. This date was, however, pushed back due to pandemic concerns. A new reopening date has not yet been set.

As we recently reported, the State of California currently holds the reins in regard to Disneyland’s reopening timeline. Both Disneyland Resort theme parks have been closed since March 14.
