Disneyland 65 Anniversary Fan Tributes

65 years ago today, Disneyland opened to the world for the first time. And while it remains closed, Disneyland fans around the world are taking time to give their own special tribute to the Happiest Place on Earth.

Here are some of the tweets that caught our eye:

@MisAnthroPony wrote, “Happy 65th Birthday to Disneyland. The theme park that makes hopes and dreams come true.”

@CaptHighball wrote, “We miss you, @Disneyland. Can’t wait to introduce our little one to our magical place when the time is right!”

@w0lfwoman wrote, “#Disneyland65 have a blessed birthday.”

@MissusMelnee wrote, “Happy Birthday to the original. Always my happy place, and the spot of so many birthdays, celebrations, and generally just congregating after school because rides + hand dipped corn dogs make everything better.”

@Shayna_Adele wrote, “Happy 65th Birthday Disneyland. Thank you for the countless memories and thank you for the childhood dream job come true. Hope to see you soon.”

@tunacan_D wrote (translated), “The happiest place on earth. Congratulations on the 65th Anniversary. Hopefully someday we can have a good time in the park again…”

@DiegoMedinaMill wrote (translated), “A day like today but in 1955 it opened its doors for the first time, #Disneyland Resort in California, becoming the 1st Disney park. Today is its 65th Anniversary of Magic and Fun. Thank you #WaltDisney for leaving us a place and being children forever.”

Over the past 65 years, Disneyland has been the setting for scores and scores of magical memories for people all over the world. Fans are flooding social media with those memories and their hope they can return to the magic once again, and the magical happiness of those memories continues to spread far and wide.

Disneyland was originally scheduled to reopen for its 65th Anniversary, but circumstances due to the current pandemic have caused that reopening to be pushed back for the time being.
