Hong Kong Disneyland will officially be the second Disney theme park around the world to reopen its gates. On June 18, Guests will once again be able to walk down Main Street and take in the magic.
But something new will be there to greet the returning Guests: Hong Kong Disneyland’s Castle of Magical Dreams. It appears that construction was able to move ahead on the transformation project as Disney’s second-youngest resort remained empty due to the global pandemic. And it will be nearly completed when it will be seen by Guests.

The nearly identical replica of the Disneyland Resort’s Sleeping Beauty Castle has been transformed into a towering unique masterpiece. But rather than completely eliminate what was there before, one can see the original castle is still there. It forms the base to the entirely new structure, and creates a visual metaphor for how Disneyland’s past has provided the foundation for the magical dreams of today to flourish.
