Good news, Marvel fans. New reports coming in say the Hawkeye Disney+ series is finally looking like it’s moving ahead as locations begin to open up again for filming.
According to new information from Production Weekly, the filming of the Hawkeye series is set to begin filing on September 28th at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta.
Jeremy Renner is already warming up to return back to the role and his take on the famous Marvel character has evolved since first appearing on our screens in Thor. He has since appeared in the following MCU movies:
- The Avengers
- Avengers: Age of Ultron
- Captain America: Civil War
- Avengers: Endgame
In my opinion, he went from being a bit of a pointless character (sorry) to one of my personal favorites who was given more depth as the MCU progressed.

As for the upcoming Hawkeye Disney+ series, the story is set to focus on Clint Barton training another superhero without powers, Kate Bishop. Hailee Steinfeld is still supposed to be co-starring as Kate Bishop, but with other filming commitments thanks to the current situation, we haven’t seen anything official confirmed by Disney.
Tanner Bean (Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol) and Jonathan Igla (Mad Men) are on board as writers and with filming starting later this year, we’d expect this to be coming to Disney+ late in 2021.
It’s unclear at this stage how much the story of the Hawkeye show will have an impact on the rest of the MCU. We know that all Marvel shows coming to Disney+ will be intertwined with the movies (apart from What If…?) so it’s going to be exciting to see how the likes of Loki, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and WandaVision all come together and relate to the next batch of Marvel Cinematic films.
