It wasn’t that long ago when Deepfake sent the internet ablaze by editing the film Back to the Future to feature Marvel icons Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Holland. Now, they’re at it again — this time with Marvel icon Chris Pratt and Indiana Jones.
Check it out:
As of now, Harrison Ford is still determined to reprise the role for Indiana Jones 5 whenever it starts filming. After all, he basically created the role himself.
However, there has been constant talk about rebooting the franchise with a younger man stepping in to play the gun-slinging and whip-thrashing archeologist, Dr. Henry Jones Jr. And it would be no stretch of the imagination to see Pratt in the role.
Not only is there an uncanny semblance to Ford’s younger self–as shown in deepfake’s video–but Pratt has also created a name for himself as an action hero actor. He took the world by storm when he transformed from his chubby goofy Parks and Recreation side character into his ripped and goofy Guardians of the Galaxy hero character. Pratt then solidified himself as an action-adventure star by taking the role of Owen in Universal’s Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
But fans sold on seeing Pratt as the new Indy will have to wait until at least Ford finishes the fifth Indy film currently in the pipeline. The Lucasfilm project has faced setback after setback. Its release date has been pushed back several times due to disagreement over the script. The most shocking news that emerged was Stephen Spielberg stepping away from the director’s chair. While he will still remain on as a producer, this will be the first Indiana Jones film not directed by him.
Pratt is also preoccupied with other projects as well. Most notably his third appearance as Owen for Jurrasic World: Dominion, and his fifth appearance as Star Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
But who knows what the future holds.
