Splash Mountain Rap

I know we’re all worried about the situation that Disney’s theme parks are going through right now. After all, they aren’t operating and for most, we still have no concrete idea on when things are going to return to normal.

Don’t worry though, nothing can be as bad as this late 80s Splash Mountain Rap video that was released to celebrate the opening of the attraction at Disneyland.

Here it is in all it’s glory below:

I would like some sympathy here, I had to listen to this several times to get the following lyrics for anyone that wanted to ‘rap’ along to the Splash Mountain Rap:

Well you know it is a thrill when you go downhill

Cause you’re ridin’ on on the mountain of your own free will

And you’re zippin’ in a flash on a daring dash

Down a waterfall so rapid that you go splish-splash

Splash Mountain,  Zip-a-dee-doo-dah

Splash Mountain, Zip-a-dee-ay

My, oh my.. zip zip zip zip zip zip

Wonderful day, zip, splish splash

Plenty of sunshine. Zip. Splish splash

Heading my way…zip zip zip zip zip zip

Zip-a-dee-doo-dah, Zip-a-dee-ay

I wish I could say this was the first time I had come across this video but sadly it’s resurfaced so many times that I just couldn’t say no to writing about it. Now if anyone wants to rap along and send us the video, that will at least result in my night of no sleep being worthwhile.

This is classic Michael Eisner moment and as much as this video is super cringy, I do miss the days of opening Disney Parks attractions in the likes of Disneyland and the Magic Kingdom with this kind of crazy. Imagine walking into Walt Disney World after months of closures to see this happening in place of the opening show at Magic Kingdom.

Let us know if you enjoyed the classic Splash Mountain rap in the comments below. As for me, I need to go and have a little cry in a corner, these lyrics aren’t leaving my head anytime soon.
