Brooke Prelovsky is a huge Disney fan who closed her personal online business to make masks for health care workers and her good will to help others is not only selfless but infections!

Prelovsky, who lives in Pennsylvania, loves everything Disney–and most majorly the Disney Parks. “There’s just something about walking into the parks and forgetting everything else in the world,” said Prelovsky to Spectrum News 13.

In fact, she loves Disney so much she designs and creates Disney-themed items for a living on her online website shopbbrooke.com. Here is where she makes and sells Minnie ears and charms that can go in smart watches.

Although, in the wake of the pandemic, Brooke decided to take a step back from her business after she saw a post on Facebook from a friend asking “Can anybody sew?” The post came from a friend who worked in the health care system, which has been struggling to get masks for workers aiding patients with the disease.

Upon seeing the post, and thinking of her parents who both work in health care in her Pennsylvania community, Prelovsky said to her husband, “We can sew.” After speaking to her husband, Prelovsky put out a post on social media sharing that she would be making masks locally.

“Within the first couple of hours, we had hundreds of emails. By the second day, we had a thousand,” said Prelovsky. With all the requests for masks, Prelovsky got to work and has since sewed more than 2,000 masks–most of which, are designed in Disney-print.

Prelovsky shared to Spectrum News 13, that she’s never been more proud of anything she’s ever put out on her website since starting it than these masks. “Of all the products I’ve created and made, I’ve never been so proud of anything, because it’s really helping make a difference and sending out some positivity right now,” she said.

All of the masks Prelovsky has created have all been sent out for free thanks to fabric and monetary donations. Additionally, Prelovsky says she’s been following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines when making the masks.
